Ronald, you will not be able to get a grant to pay bills, but you can apply at your local senior service agency for possible assistance, and at the Social Security office for disability assistance. Good luck.

Melvin, I don't think the company gets money. I think the company is required by law to consider all eligible applicants for various job positions. Depending on the type and level of a person's disability, that individual may be a qualified candidate for a job within the company.

Diane, we do not issue grants. You will need to contact one of the agencies listed in blue above.

I am trying to find help with my finances and I've been told that I would probably be able to get a grant. Please Help me.

Carolyn, it's rare that grants provide renovation assistance without a specific purpose, e.g. the home needs foundational support, weatherproofing for better heat/cooling efficiency, or the yard is a blight and the neighbors are complaining.

That being said, local charity rebuilding services and organizations such as Habitat for Humanity may consider the home a possibility for repair after an application and evaluation process.

If the add-on is simply a cosmetic change, it probably won't be considered. But if the add-on is to move your daugther into your home or you into hers, it's possible these types of agencies may consider the project.

Check with your local Council on Aging or Health and Human Services to find out what charities are like this in your area. Good luck!

I would imagine the pool for grant funding for non-profits is pretty slim right now.

My experience is that additional corporate sponsorship helps host these special events more than grants, as most grantors seek to fund maintenance programs or start-up services, not special events.

But, check the Foundation Center to review granting guidelines. Good luck!

I am searching for grants for my district and state Senior Olympic games. Whether it be federal, state or local. Senior Olympics relies on private donations and is in need of funding. Can someone please direct me in the right direction.

Christina, there are many community agencies that may be able to help your mother. Contact a senior center, a rebuilding charity, or the city/state division of housing to learn more. Good luck!

Raquel, if you're up for doing the research, try this resource - Foundation Center. It might have some possibilities for covering emergency medical expenses.

Don, you should be able to check in your community for a refurbishing program that may help seniors at a certain financial threshold prepare for winter. Also consider purchasing excess insulation at a greatly reduced price at a Habit for Humanity building center.

Have Queen Annes Victorian House with no insulation in walls, attic, floor. Have only wood heat. Very cold in winter, All the time basicaly? Is A historical house; once on historical society list.
